Nigeria: Religion

Nigeria: Religion

As Nigeria progresses into the future there are still those most basic instincts that tell them to believe in something higher, this is religion.  Though Islam dominated the north it was slowly wearing away with Christianity on the rise (u.s. library oc congress).

Throughout the ages Nigeria has been many different religions but there one that has almost always come out on top is Islam (pearce). This is a newly changing argument for with Christianity coming on the rise there are two things at war here tradition and revelation for when it all comes down to it we will never know who will come out on top until w see it happen (pearce).

There are also many questions being asked about whether or not it was justifiable for western society to introduce a new religion to these lands that had staying the same for many years. Whether or not it was right it has already happened so there is nothing we can do about except to whit for the outcome.

Now it is my personal opinion that Islam a religion that has been there for so many years with such colorful history in Nigeria should come out on top but I am afraid that it is the underdog in this situation for this has happened before with religions and Christianity. It almost always prevails but I hope to not see that happen again.

There is a multitude of reasons that Islam should win the good fight one of them being that we don’t want Christianity to have a monopoly on the world’s religions and if current trends continue that is what will happen and without a multitude of religions in the world things might get boring.
